B52s; Alabama Shakes; Courtney Love; Chicago - At The Cap

If you missed Billy Idol and Weird Al this weekend, don't worry, there are lots of big acts to choose from this month.

The Capitol Theatre closed out the month of May and kicked off the month of June with two big acts - a lively performance by rock star Billy Idol and comedic show by Weird Al Yankovic this past weekend.

But if you missed the shows, which received great reviews on industry blogs, don’t worry, The Cap has a great line up throughout the rest of June and the summer. The B-52s will bring the crowd back to the late 70s with their songs like “Love Shack” and Rock Lobster” this Thursday, June 6.

The next night, the Old Crow Medicine Show, a Nashville-based string band will bring their blue-grass, folksy music to stage. Brittany Howard, singer of the soulful Alabama Shakes, might remind concert-goers of Janis Joplin’s crooning on The Cap’s stage decades ago on June 23 (the concernt is already sold out.)

The rock band Chicago will play on June 22 and one of America’s favorite female alternative rock singers Courtney Love plays Thursday, June 27.

The month closes out with indie rock, funk artists David Byrne and St. Vincent on Saturday, June 29.

Also, the local Grateful Dead cover band, The Stella Blues Band, starts a residency at Garcia’s this month with Wednesday night shows starting at 9 p.m. all month. Tickets are only $5.

Tickets for the shows in the theatre range from $25 to $125 depending on the show. All shows start at 8 p.m. and doors open at 6:30 p.m. Look up prices at thecapitoltheatre.com.
