Port Chester High School student Rosie Veltri is the 2012 Westchester Teen Idol.
She won in a competition Saturday night at Irvington Town Hall Theater. To take the title, Veltri sang "Maybe This Time" from Cabaret and "Astonishing" from Little Women.
Pleasantville Music Theater, a Westchester-based non-profit community theater organization, organizes the Westchester Teen Idol competition. Teen vocalists between ages 13-19 are invited to compete. Veltri also performed in the competition last year.
At Port Chester High School, Veltri is president of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. Tri-M, an acronym for “Modern Music Masters,” is an international music honor society for high school students, sponsored by the National Association for Music Education.
