New Cycling and Yoga Studio to Open in Port Chester

Studio 14 Indoor Cycling & Yoga, Westchester County’s first-of-its-kind hybrid fitness studio combining the principles of yoga, indoor cycling and “combo” classes will open this September in Port Chester. The studio has launched its website September 10, which is now live at: www.TheStudio14.com.  A pre-opening special package of 14 classes for $280 (just $20/class) can now be purchased online.

In celebration of its’ opening, Studio 14 will be hosting a ribbon cutting ceremony and toast with a Grand Opening Celebration for friends, family and newcomers on Saturday, October 5th from 1:00-4:00 pm.  Several 14-minute classes will be offered for those interested in trying out a yoga or indoor cycling class. Shoes, water and mats will be provided. Refreshments, food and activities will be available for kids.

The daily class schedule at Studio 14, which offers programs balancing the critical benefits of several fitness disciplines incorporating balance, strength, lifestyle and endurance, are scheduled from 5:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. to accommodate clients and will welcome all levels.  A variety of indoor cycling sessions will be offered, including simulated course and race rides, a proprietary “S14 Cycle” program, and “Hybrid Fitness Yoga” classes. Yoga classes range from introductory “Foundation Yoga 101” and “Yoga Definition” classes to more advanced “Hot Yoga” and “Power Vinyasa.” Specialized classes will be offered for teens, and for yoga instructors in training.  Matrix Boot Camp sessions are also offered several times a week. The online registration process is now open, and several levels are offered with pre-opening introductory pricing at just $20 per class.  Prospective clients can register by visiting the website.  A limited number of complimentary trial classes will be offered for first time customers.

The Studio 14 website, www.TheStudio14.com, additionally provides descriptions of each class, as well as background information on all instructors. It also allows clients to reserve spots in specific classes that have a limited number of spaces based on cycle availability.  Members can also sign up to receive the Studio 14 newsletter, which will offer special deals, offers and insights from the owners.

Studio 14 was founded by four fitness professionals: Gwen Lawrence, a seasoned certified yoga instructor with more than 20 years experience who trains five of the NY Professional Athletes and Teams, Jonny Rothschild, an accomplished endurance athlete, Dennis Briscoe and Thomas Martinetti, the principal owners of Rye Health & Fitness personal training studio based in Rye, NY.

Studio 14 is located in a new, 5,000-square foot space at 14 Waterfront Place in downtown Port Chester on the top tier of AMC Loewes Port Chester Movie Theater next to Kids U.  The facility features high-end amenities such as a cycling studio with stadium seating, 40 Keiser M3+ bikes, HD TVs and projection screen to facilitate video rides; competition rides, and simulated course rides on a large projection screen. A separate yoga room will be able to comfortably fit 40+ yoga mats in a spacious room with 30-foot ceilings with a smaller room set aside for privates and small group training sessions. 

The Studio 14 principals will be hosting “14 for 14” which is a series of 14 charity events over the course of the year as a way of giving back to the community. The first kick-off event will be held October 8th in collaboration with Sole Ryeders & Friends, a community based organization that provides and supports cancer-related programs.  After that, there will be at least one event per month as a way for Studio 14 to help various charities raise money for their wonderful causes.
