While folks back home in Port Chester will be enjoying cook-outs parades this Memorial Day Weekend, a team from is heading to Massachusetts to test their training and fitness.
The team is competing in the regionals of the CrossFit Games. Winners in this event go on to the national finals.
Leading the team are CrossFit Port Chester owners Kaleen Ladeairous and Maria Vulcano. Their gym is located at 16 King St. in downtown Port Chester.
While Ladeairous, 26, and Vulcano, 36, are professional trainers, other members of the team heading to the regionals are CrossFit members who work out with them in the intense fitness program.

Vulcano is the team leader, and Ladeairous is competing as an individual. She finished the Northeast competition as the leading female.
Ladeairous and Vulcano said that they are excited members of their gym are taking part in the games and going through the same intense fitness regime she and Vulcano go through as professionals.
CrossFit Port Chester started with 19 people participating in the games, in which participants must complete specific exercises according to the rules of the games. The final group of seven from CrossFit is headed to the regional finals in Canton, Mass. The group is expected to be accompanied by family and friends to cheer them on.
