It’s All About Things opened its doors in Port Chester for business in late July 2013.

“The gallery acts as a project space for my work and curates shows using artworks from other people as well. One major concept of the space is to be engaged with the Port Chester community and to provide an art experiences for them. There is something for everyone, and the gallery offers artwork for sale too. There are landscape paintings to abstract works of art,” says owner Luis Maldonado.

It's All About Things plans to start offering art classes to children on February 15th, 2014. Two sessions will be offered on Saturday mornings and will run for 45 minutes each.  They will start at 10:30 AM and run until 11:15 AM and the next session will run from 11:30 AM - 12:15 PM. Class sessions will run for 7 weeks.  In these classes, children will learn all different types of art methods and the set up will be in a workshop format.

Every other week there will be a different theme to the classes and at the end of the school season there will be a group show for the children with a gallery party.

Luis has an extensive background in art with a BFA from Northern Illinois University in Sculpture, and MFA in Painting from SUNY Purchase as well as extensive projects in Bronx, NY, Milwaukee, WI, Chicago, IL, and in Salzburg, Austria.

Why did Luis pick to open his business in Port Chester, NY after working all over?

Luis Cheerfully answered, “I chose to open the gallery in Port Chester, because of my personal experience living here during my grad school days and the interesting cultural mix, and the affordable spaces for artists.
