HOUNDS ON THE SOUND - Sunday Oct. 6th, 2013!

"Hounds On The Sound" has become a great annual event to raise money for the New Rochelle Humane Society, Pet Rescue of Larchmont and the Mt. Vernon Animal Shelter.

We are so lucky that in our area we have so many top-notch animal shelters and rescue organizations.  Fundraising is a never-ending quest for these saviors. Shelters and rescues in other parts of the country struggle terribly to come up with funding and often the conditions there are horrendous and there are thousands of animals euthanized due to overcrowding and lack of money.

The NRHS, Pet Rescue and the MVAS save thousands of animals a year, provide them with food, shelter, medical care and get many many of them into good loving homes. They do amazing work and their staffs and volunteers work tirelessly to make this all happen.

It's all possible in large part to the generous donations from the community that provide the funding.

This year the Hounds On The Sound event will take place on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Glen Island Park in New Rochelle.

It's a major event with tons of vendors and a really fun day. Come on down to check out all the different things, demonstrations and tables, and if you're thinking of adopting a new pet, most of our local rescues and shelters will be represented with adoptable animals that you can meet.

Please support the effort to save homeless, abused, abandoned and neglected animals in our area by attending. You can also sign up to walk and raise donations through sponsorships!

If you can't attend but you'd like to sponsor a walker, my 12 year old MaltiPoo Cosette and I will be walking for the second time and she'd love to have your support!  Cozy was adopted at age ten from the New Rochelle Humane Society in 2011.  Last year she raised $1300.00, this year at age 12 she'd like to top that - no donation amount is too small!  To sponsor Cozy in her quest to help the animals still in the shelter you can click on this link to go to her page:
