Raise Money for Soup Kitchens At Clay Art Center This Weekend

The Port Chester-based art center partners with a national charity for its "Empty Bowls" event.

Create art, help feed the hungry.

That's the essence of Clay Art Center's "Emtpy Bowls" event, which runs from 1:30 to 4 p.m. tomorrow at 40 Beech Street in Port Chester.

staff, artists, students and volunteers will be creating one of a kind bowls of all shapes and sizes on and off the potter’s wheel, and each bowl made on site will be donated to the Fundraiser.  Clay Art Center will provide all materials, and CAC artists will volunteer their time during the event, and after to trim and glaze each bowl created.

The event is free and open to the public. This year marks the 12th anniversary of "Empty Bowls," which has raised more than $55,000 for local efforts to feed the hungry.
