POLL: Will You Rock Out at the Renovated Capitol?

Promoters say they'll bring about 100 shows a year to the revitalized Capitol Theatre, including music and comedy acts.

For music fans and Port Chester locals who have memories tied to the Capitol Theatre, this week brought great news.

Promoters say they'll stage about 100 shows at when the venue opens its doors after a four-month, $2 million renovation. Those shows will be the first at the Capitol in more than a decade, and will return the old theater to public use after years of hosting private parties and events.

Lessee Peter Shapiro, who co-owns bowling alley/concert venue Brooklyn Bowl, told the New York Times he's confident the theater's size and history will draw star power. No names have been floated yet, but locals can expect modern acts, comedy and possibly Latin music to draw a more local crowd on some nights.
