PC Kids Can Apply for 8 Weeks of Free Ceramics Classes at Clay Art Center

The new class, dubbed I

is offering a pretty sweet deal for kids in Port Chester -- eight weeks of classes covering the fundamentals of claymaking and the opportunity to create a piece of art that will be exhibited at the Beech Street art center.

Kids will also get to craft practical items, like bowls and cups, as well as try their hand at sculpture, putting their new skills to good use.

All they have to do is apply and commit to eight weeks of classes.

The new class, dubbed I <3 Clay, is made possible through grants from the New York State Council on the Arts and ArtsWestchester.

While Clay Art Center has a at , and its regular classes are filled with kids and adults from throughout Westchester, I <3 Clay is specifically geared toward local kids who might not get the chance to enroll in the center's classes, which range in fees from about $75 to $300 or more.

All Port Chester teens who are interested in the arts and willing to commit to the full 8 weeks of class are encouraged to apply, no previous ceramics experience is necessary.
