Drop Zone: Army Paratroopers to Land at PCHS

The jump is scheduled for 2:15 p.m. on Sept. 27, and spectators can get a great view of the action from the bleachers at Ryan Stadium.

With roots that go back to 1959, the Golden Knights have been performing public jumps and demonstrations throughout the U.S. and the world.

Falling at speeds exceeding 120 mph, the 89-person paratrooper team has a repertoire that includes tandem jumping and precision displays to form patterns -- such as the U.S. Army's star logo -- in the air. The Golden Knights work alongside a group of aviators known as "Team Six," who pilot Fokker C-31A “Troopships” and UVA- 18De Havilland Twin Otters.
