One-of-a-Kind Pottery Featured in 'Clay-Holiday' Exhibit

Functional, handmade clay art items and pottery go on sale at annual 'Clay-Holiday.'

The will connect local ceramic artists with the community in its upcoming exhibit titled “Clay-Holiday.” Dozens of artists will have hundreds of pieces available for sale from Dec. 1 to 23.

As program director Leigh Taylor Mickelson explained, “It is an opportunity to purchase functional pottery and one-of-a-kind clay art for holiday gift-giving as well as for one's own use.”

The Clay Art Center, although has been around since 1957, recently became a 503c organization. It offers space to clay artists and workshops to the community. As of late, Mickelson said, the classes have been very well received even in the midst of the slowed economy. Its clay-only gallery is one of few in the area.
