At The Cap: Courtney Love's Still Alive; David Byrne & St. Vincent

Courtney Love

At 48 Courtney Love is still alive and rocking out. The famous rock star has dubbed her current tour, the first since 2010, the “I’m Still Alive Tour.” It kicked off last week and is stopping at The Capitol Theatre in Port Chester on Thursday, June 27. Tickets are $35.

Love told The Rolling Stones it will feature some “rarities,” some covers and probably some Hole fan favorites. She plans to have a new album and book out this December. Read a recent Q&A with her in Rolling Stone here.

David Byrne & St. Vincent

The popular duo David Byrne & St. Vincent (Annie Clark) will be performing with a large brass section at the Cap on Saturday night. Their new album “Love This Giant” will be released this September which is when they will kick off a 24-date fall tour.

Byrne, Talking Heads founding member and principal songwriter, and Clark, an accomplished lyricist, musician and performer, each wrote half the songs on their new record and split lyrical and vocal roles. The album has been described as “infectious and modern hook-laden rock.”

“We’ll be doing these songs and a bunch of songs that we suspect people will know, with a group that includes eight brass players, a keyboardist and a drummer,” Byrne said of the tour.

Tickets for their Saturday show at The Cap range from $55 to $95.

Doors are at 6 p.m. and shows start at 8 p.m. Check thecapitoltheatre.com for more information.
