Weekend Planner: Fireworks and Festivals, Weather Permitting

With current forecasts predicting a later-than-expected arrival for Hurricane Irene, Saturday events might happen after all.

Got your sights set on the weekend? Here are six ideas to get your planning started.

 
1. PLAYLAND FIREWORKS

Where/When: , 931c E Boston Post Rd, Mamaroneck, NY 10543. Saturday, August 27 at 11 a.m.-1 p.m. for ages 7-12, August 27 at 2-4 p.m. for ages 13-18 & Sunday, August 28 at 11 a.m.-1 p.m. for ages 18 and up. 

Why Go: In preparation for a dynamic season of dance, Resident Arts Educator and Director, Benjamin Sterling Cannon will teach Dance Master Classes for dancers and actors who are planning to audition for the upcoming Mainstage and YPT seasons.  The focus of each class will be fundamental musical theater dance technique and choreography.

Participants will learn and improve upon basic dance technique, will learn choreography in the style of some of the upcoming productions, participate in a mock audition and be given feedback on their performance.

5.  

Where/When: 25 Bellain Ave, Harrison, NY 10528. August 28, 7-8pm.  
Why Go: We would all like to give our children the World

6. BRUNCH AT RUE DE CREPES 

Where/When: 261 Halstead Avenue, Harrison NY. Weekends 10am-4pm.

Why Go: Instead of you’re traditional eggs and pancakes, spice up your weekend routine with a French style brunch. These crepes are to die for.

Price: Cost of meal.
