The Great Escape: An Organized Hiking Adventure in Westchester

Get outside this weekend for a hike at the Ward Pound Ridge Nature Reservation in Cross River.

If you never joined Boy Scouts as a kid or are a huge fan of the outdoors, you're probably in the dark to such hiking navigational know-how as, 'What side of the tree does the moss usually grow on?'

This won’t be the case after Saturday afternoon, when Westchester residents are invited to the Trailside Nature Museum for a Naturalist’s Choice Hike.

So take a break from the central air-conditioned house, strap on a pair of comfortable shoes and breathe in some fresh air for a few hours for a guided tour of the natural world. Not only will your body thank you for the good exercise, you’ll also be getting a first-hand look at ecological events going on around you.

The activities will begin this Saturday at 1pm at Trailside Nature Museum located in the Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. The address is Route 35 & 121 in South
Cross River, NY.
