Storm Leaves Streets Flooded in Port Chester

A short, violent storm flooded local streets and stranded several cars on Thursday afternoon.

Some Port Chester streets looked like rivers on Thursday afternoon, after a violent thunderstorm swept through the area, bringing torrential rains with it.

On Wesley Avenue near Westchester Avenue, a pair of cars were towed after becoming stuck in deep flood waters. Elsewhere, streets were closed down by DPW and police after authorities deemed the waters too deep for motorists to drive through.

The rain cleared up by mid-afternoon, although forecasts predict sporadic light rain could continue through the evening.
