Rescheduled Tree-Lighting Is Tonight

Join Santa, the Port Chester Fire Department and PCHS musicians tonight at the waterfront.

Crowds will gather at Port Chester's waterfront marina tonight for the annual downtown tree-lighting ceremony.

Although temperatures have dropped about 20 degrees, bringing a more seasonal touch to the proceedings, it looks like the local area won't catch the tail-end of a storm system that threatened to bring the first flakes of the winter. And the weather's otherwise favorable as well -- after yesterday's rains, forecasts predict a partly cloudy day free from precipitation.

Santa will arrive at the waterfront tonight courtesy of a Port Chester Fire Department engine. He'll help hand out small gifts and hot chocolate to local kids before lighting the downtown Christmas tree at 5:45 p.m.
