The following release is from the Port Chester Dog Park Group:

Port Chester, NY is currently in 3rd place out of over 900 nominated communities to win $100,000 in the PetSafe Bark For Your Park Contest.

On May 7th, Port Chester was nominated as one of the many communities seeking to win the Bark For Your Park contest held by PetSafe, a pet product company. People from all over have been voting every day for the potential of Port Chester winning the $100,000, or one of the $25,000 additional prizes. Preliminary voting will continue through June 7th, when PetSafe will announce the 15 finalists. Should Port Chester become one of the 15 finalists, voting will continue through the end of July.

The Village of Port Chester has approved a location for the dog park at Abendroth Park and residents have formed the Port Chester Dog Park Group to raise money for approximately 1500 feet of fencing and other park amenities. The group has raised over $21,000 to date. With a $55,000 fundraising goal, winning this contest would basically bring Port Chester the funds needed to develop the park.

Additionally, the Port Chester Dog Park Group is holding a $10,000 grand prize raffle in order to add to their fundraising progress. Only 300 tickets are being sold for this raffle and there are several prizes, including:

1st Prize: $10,000

2nd Prize: $1,000

3rd Prize: $500

4th Prize: $500 5th Prize: $500

Plus tickets purchased by June 15th will be entered into an additional $500 raffle. There is a 1 in 300 chance of winning $10,000 and a 1 in 50 chance of winning 5x the ticket price.
