This semester, Maloney was not only that made its way to Nationals in Orlando, Florida: she can also count herself a recipient of one out of only 10 scholarships handed out by the Westchester, Putnam, Dutchess and Rockland Cheerleading Coaches Association.

The young student was nominated for the prize by Port Chester High School Varsity Cheerleading coach Chez Sanchez, and completed a rigorous process of applications and interviews to the scholarship committee.

Whiz Kid's Key to Awesomeness:

This award-winner is no stranger to hard work and determination: perfecting her high kicks on the floor since elementary school, Maloney qualified for the Varsity squad her sophomore, junior and senior years of high school.
