New Executive Director Named At Carver Center

Port Chester's very own Carver Center is announcing their new Executive Director.


The Carver Center in Port Chester is pleased to announce that Joseph Kwasniewski has been named the new Executive Director.  Previously, Kwasniewski had served as the Chief Operating Officer/Acting Executive Director.

 

Carver Center’s Board President Dinah Howland said,” The Board of Directors looks forward to working with Joe. He is a strong leader and much of the success of Carver over the past year is due to his and his staff’s hard work. Joe has the Board’s overwhelming support.”

Joe Kwasniewski had joined the Carver Center as a Facilities Manager in 2009 and was able to wear many different hats. A year later in 2010, he became the Operations Director. This position came with more responsibilities including and not limited to: dealing with structural issues with the building, serving as Project Manager for renovations, as well as overseeing other departments such as: Finance, IT, Teen programs, Children’s Programs, Community & Family Services, Front Desk, Aquatics, and the Fitness Center.

Kwasniewski said of his new position,” We have a strategic plan in place that respects our founder’s vision and adapts to meet the ever changing needs of the Port Chester community. Carver has never been stronger thanks to the support of our donors, community and amazing staff. I am dedicated to seeing a more just world: a world where it is within everyone’s capacity to meet his or her own basic needs. Every program we offer at Carver is designed to meet the educational, recreational, cultural, and civic needs of children, youth and adults to support them through every life stage.”

 

Joe resides in nearby Stamford, Connecticut and has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Eastern Connecticut State University, with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Spanish.
