Miss CT to Swoop in for Carver Center Fundraiser in Rye Brook

Come See Miss Connecticut on Wednesday, July 10th at the Rye Brook Bar Method Challenge and help raise funds for Carver Center.

Miss Connecticut's Kaitlyn Tarpey will be at The Bar Method on Wednesday, July 10th to participate in the "Rye Brook Bar Method Challenge". Classes will be held at 5:30pm and 6:45pm and space is limited to 25 per class and the price is $50, which benefits the Carver Center.

Participants can win prizes by participating in full challenges in between classes and enter raffles for prizes from local sponsors. Refreshments will be served.

Kaitlin Tarpey's local title is "Miss Southington," though her hometown is Stamford. Her talent is Irish Step Dancing and she is a student at the Honors College at PACE University.

Tarpey began competing in the Miss Connecticut Pageant two years ago after surviving an almost-fatal lung surgery, according to a release from the Bar Method. Her passions are raising awareness for Veterans through fundraisers and her blog, kaittarpey.wordpress.org.

After learning that the Miss America Organization is the largest provider of scholarships in the world, Tarpey decided to participate in a local pageant. After joining the organization, Kaitlyn realized the voice it gave her in the community and she fell in love with the idea of being a local leader.

The Bar Method  is located at 10 Rye Ridge Plaza.

The Carver Center is the primary community-based organization in the village of Port Chester, New York. The Center offers programs and resources designed to meet the educational, recreational, cultural and civic needs of children, youth and adults, with a particular focus on meeting the needs of underprivileged youth.
