Memorial Day, A Time to Honor Our Fallen Soldiers

Happy Memorial Day weekend Port Chester.

We all think of Memorial Day as the kick off for summer, but our veterans and military remind us that it is also important to remember its true meaning.

Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving in the Unite State military. It originated after the Civil War, to commemorate the soldiers who died in that war and was first known as Decoration Day. Today, it honors all Americans who have died while in service.

Thank you to all of the past and present men and women who have been part of the armed services, and especially to those who lost their lives while fighting for our freedoms.

The Port Chester Memorial Day parade down Westchester Avenue will be held on  Monday, May 27 at 12 p.m.

Happy Memorial Day!
