Join Santa at Port Chester Tree Lighting Festivities

Neighbors and friends will gather at Port Chester's waterfront marina Wednesday for the annual downtown tree-lighting.

Port Chester will kick off holiday celebrations next week when Santa arrives to help light the downtown Christmas tree.

The draws hundreds to the waterfront marina lot, where Port Chester's youngest keep warm with hot chocolate while waiting for Santa for arrive on a fire truck.

Along with free hot chocolate and donuts, Santa will hand out small gifts to children, and the Port Chester High School Brass Ensemble will play festive tunes.

At 5:45 p.m., the mayor and trustees will lend St. Nick a hand as they light the downtown Christmas tree.

The official flier says the event starts at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7, but we recommend getting there a few minutes early to negotiate the crowds and find a good spot where the kids can watch Santa pull up on his PCFD wheels.
