Memorial Day's events will begin at 9 a.m., at the Village Marina off Forest Avenue. The day will start with the tossing of carnations into the Long Island Sound while saying prayers for the U.S. Navy’s heroes. After that, there will be an oppotunity to visit all thirteen of Port Chester’s memorials to every war and branch of the service from 11 a.m. to noon.
The parade will begin at noon, at Veterans Memorial Park (at Westchester Avenue and Regent Street.) The half-mile parade will make it's way down Westchester Avenue and end at American Legion Post 93 (78 Pearl St.) The parade will feature Girl and Boy Scouts troupes, school bands, the American Legion Band and 25 fire engines. Refreshments will be served after the parade.
