D'Agostino Side of Rye Ridge Still Open; Starbucks Side Remains Closed

Expect the half of Rye Ridge Shopping Center that closed due to an electrical fire to remain closed throughout the weekend and into next week.

The fire in Rye Ridge Shopping Center’s electrical room that happened on Wednesday will likely keep that building closed for at least the next few days, according to Rye Brook Village Manager Chris Bradbury. Bradbury has had a few meetings with Win Ridge Realty, owner of Rye Ridge Shopping Center and their electrical engineers to make sure all concerned parties are on the same page with the progress of restoring electricity to the building, he said.

“They are working on a plan to get temporary service, maybe panels or generators, to the stores but that will take several days at least,” Bradbury said today.

All the stores from SportsTech to Chipotle and on the lower level of that building are closed. But, the D’Agostino’s side of the center is still open for business. Yesterday, the stores were still operating without Internet service, but Optimum was on site working to restore their service. Finch’s is still taking credit cards, but Rye Ridge Deli was accepting cash only.
