Port Chester emerged relatively unscathed compared to neighboring communities.

Although Hurricane Irene caused downed trees, scattered power outages and localized flooding in Port Chester, the village emerged relatively unscathed compared to neighboring communities.

Here are incident reports, by the numbers:

  • 126 calls for emergency service (Note: Not all were storm-related.)
  • 17 responses by the Port Chester Fire Department
  • 14 calls regarding localized flooding
  • 3 small clusters of power outages
  • 3 traffic lights deactivated during the storm
  • 31 downed trees
  • 9 downed wires
  • 5 car accidents (Note: Not necessarily storm-related.)
  • 13 aided cases (Again, not necessarily storm-related.)
