Big Kitty Getting Smaller While Waiting for New Home

Rub-a-tub is one of many animals at the New Rochelle Humane Society deserving of a second chance with a new family.

From the New Rochelle Humane Society:

A visit to the Rye Nature Center turned out to be a rescue mission in disguise.

An abandoned cat was left in the parking lot in a carrier, and it needed help.

Inside the carrier was an extremely overweight kitty names Rub-a-tub. She is so overweight, she walks with a bit of a wobble, but she is currently on a strict diet to allow her to shed the extra pounds.

This cat is absolutely adorable. She has been living in our front office while awaiting adoption and has been getting lots of extra love and attention from shelter staff and volunteers.

Rub-a-tub is ready for a fresh start—complete with her diet food!
