Food, friends and fireworks.
That about sums up Port Chester Day, the village's end-of-summer festival that draws hundreds to Lyon Park, where kids get their faces painted and adults catch up with the neighbors.
For the twenty-third year in a row, the park will swell with vendors, crafters, booths, bands -- and great food. Along with festival favorites like cotton candy and fried dough, village eateries will set up shop in the park to serve up local favorites.
Port Chester Day is slated for next Saturday, Aug. 27. If the weather doesn't cooperate, festivities will be moved to Sunday, Aug. 28.
The day-long celebration will wrap up with a fireworks show at dusk, sending the summer off on a high note. For more information, call the Port Chester Recreation Department at 914-939-2354.
