Help Choose the County's Best-Tasting Water Tuesday, MAY 6

Water works from around the county will bring pitchers and jugs of tap water to White Plains to compete for bragging rights as Westchester’s best water during the Westchester County Department of Health’s annual tap water taste test on Tuesday, May 6.

Stop by, sample them all and vote for your favorite to select the people’s choice. This year’s blind taste test, hosted as part of National Drinking Water Week, will be held in front of the Michaelian Office Building, 148 Martine Avenue, White Plains, 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. If it rains, the taste test will take place at the same time and place on Wednesday, May 7.

The 10 participating water suppliers in this year’s competition are: Bedford Consolidated Water District, Village of Elmsford, Greenburgh Consolidated Water District #1, Village of Ossining, City of Peekskill, Village of Scarsdale, United Water New Rochelle, City of White Plains and City of Yonkers and the defending 2013 champion, the City of Mount Vernon.

After the votes are tallied on Tuesday, the health department will announce the winner and will reveal which water was which via Twitter @wchealthdept and on Facebook.com/wchealthdept.
