Hi, Thank you for your comment. This was an error that we are in the process of correcting. We have…Read More a great photo lined up that I think you'll like. Sorry for the delay and thank you for your patience.

What an important organization, and what excellent additions to staff! Particularly great to have a…Read More bilingual/bicultural person working with families whose English (and understanding of this culture and its "highways and byways") may be limited. Your post has made my day!

You mention the ordeals of Afghans ... "victims of American retaliatory attacks" ... and…Read More not a line about the sorrow fall-out of those families victimized in the WTC on September 11th. You confine your admiration to these two women who've behaved in a manner approved by you ... and suggest that is the model for other widows of that medieval-like attack.
Last, our defense of our citizens may be "retaliation" to you, but to me it's actions in line with our Constitutional duties to protect Americans under siege. And events in Boston inform us that our vigilance and willingness to confront our enemies must expand ... lest we mourn more in the days and years ahead. It is far from over.

I do not understand what "dripping acrimony" you see here, Aidan, nor any…Read More "indictment" nor what "foreign threat" you refer to. The article certainly does none of this.
How reaching out to help widows in a country that never attacked us, or searching for captured or murdered relatives might fit your comment is far beyond my understanding.

Linda T., I would guess Mrs. Brakewood lives in Port Chester if she is running for the Port Chester…Read More Board of Ed. Even if the schools had to impose an austerity budget, your taxes would still go up. The state has more control in these matters than you think.

Linda, the per pupil expenditure in PC schools is the lowest in Westchester and Rockland counties…Read More ... by about $2,000 per student.
The issue is two fold. First, our property values are not as strong as our neighbors, so our homes have a higher levy in order to fund the schools. Second, and more important, is that the reliance on property taxes slams moderate income communities like PC. We need for the state to move to an income tax to fund schools. Scream at your legislators ... not the BoE.

I am concerned there is not enough attention to detail in the BOE budget overall and Mrs. Brakewood…Read More comment about keeping taxes affordable ... where does she live ? they are out of control and in my opinion the money we pay for taxes we should have the best looking schools anywhere ... just my opinion

I was curious about the survey that said that 86% of mothers feel unappreciated. The only survey I…Read More could find, by the Institute of American values, said that 48% of mothers feel appreciated most or all of the time. I only found a summary, but it seems possible that only 14% feel appreciated all the time - the vast majority have times when we feel unappreciated.
Anyway, I liked the fact that this article emphasized things that you don't have to buy - I ended up finding a survey that the thing that most mothers appreciate on mother's day is having their kids make breakfast for them, or clean for them - something they normally have to do.

I was not aware that the NY government ever actually fixed that flaw in the law.
This will never stand up in court. Too arbitrary. Why not 8? 3? If it fits 15 and it was legal 2 years ago, it is legal today, no ex post facto laws allowed.

I stated above that I am not anyone's enemy. I will not hurt anyone. I have raised a family and taken care of my elderly Mom until she passed 3 years ago. I have a working productive set of sons following in their fathers and grand fathers and great grand fathers lifestyle. Hard working law abiding productive men and women.
I have far too much to lose to do something to hurt anyone. I have had a concealed carry license good in 24 states except my own, for 14 years. I pay for it, went through hoops to get it, renew it with a new background check, new fees, new pictures to very specific size and crop.
I have been a homeowner for 29 straight years without a missed or late payment. Never new homes so I helped the economy and Home Depot more than I care to remember.
It is the shooters in New Orleans Mothers Day Parade you need to pass laws to effect, not me.

What did Heller decision secure as protected by the 2nd? "Those firearms in common use "…Read More at the time. That firearm today ic the civilian rendition of the military rifle called the M16. That is an "assault weapon" as it is full auto. The platform was so accepted that the civilian market they jumped on it. It became the AR15. Semi auto rifle not more powerful or dangerous than any handgun. It created a huge economic driver. It continues to do so today right in your state, but not for long.
Heller specifically stated the AR platform as protected and CT or MD cannot ban its sale and possession legally.
