Exactly why does JFK make any list of rich empathizers? His named is tossed out here as though heRead More was some sort of care-taker for the misbegotten. He was nothing of the sort.

I think you'll get almost universal agreement to shutting down the illegal pipeline. Not sureRead More that'll you'll enjoy similar agreement when you malign a good portion of the nation as "yokels" or labeling someone as having a "yahootude". More than anything it's the people ... and the decisions they make ... that make guns dangerous. I think lots of folks are going to find this good message sabotaged by your snottiness.

Reverse racism in this country has grown bigger then ever. The defense attorney mark west said itRead More best. Their was no racism involved in this case until trayvon Martin brought race into it with his creepy ass cracker comment. And president Obama has experienced discrimination...whoaaa...I'm sure plenty of white people expiernce it as well but cannot talk about it because this country ignores every scenario where the bad guy is black and the victim is white. Prime example is the black panthers in the voter intimidation case that the doj dropped the charges on and it was leaked that a doj official stated that they will not prosecute when it's black suspects involved in racial incidents..how about the baby in the stroller who was shot point blank by black teens and their was no media coverage...no outrage...no white al sharptons or white Jesse Jackson's to encite hatred protests and riots...no president Obama to say that that bady could of been him..none of this because if it were the other way around it would be deemed racism. It's disgusting!! Educate yourself about Antonio west http://beforeitsnews.com/opinion-conservative/2013/07/white-baby-murdered-by-black-teens-who-was-antonio-west-2683922.html

We are all ordinary. We are all boring. We are all spectacular. We are all shy. We are all bold. WeRead More are all heroes. We are all helpless. It just depends on the day. Brad Meltzer

Your words: " As a matter of equal justice under the law, it is logical to conclude the sameRead More marital rights should apply to all persons who make loving commitments – who look into each other’s eyes and declare, “I take thee.” ... Then you can't possibly object to polygamy. Or even adult brothers and sisters joining to gather in loving commitments, right? You can't be selective with your equality.

First of all, being gay is not a choice. You either are created that way or you are not. Because ofRead More this the "equal protection" clause in the Constitution does apply to LGBT persons. As far as the "polygamy/incest" comment: Being a polygamist is a choice one makes. Government does have a legitimate interest in banning such behavior. Inheritance and property issues are examples. As far as Jesus goes, remember he was a scholar of the Torah and was familiar with the culture of polygamy of his ancestors yet he evidently did not see this as a "sin" for the time and culture of the Patriarchs.

Marriage is also a choice. Why is one type of choice more acceptable than another? Polygamists makeRead More a choice. Why is their choice unacceptable?

You licorice the position of the Tea Party. And you do so with hyperbole when you slip in such wordsRead More as "hijack" and "extremists" . That's your opinion. The Tea Party wants a government that is itself confined to parameters you so admired in the not-so-famous representative of your youth. And that Tea Party movement is not some small swath of Americans who stand at odds with all others. For a while there, I almost thought you had become more balanced and more thoughtful to those whose views differ from yours.. As though you were actually practicing "tolerance" for a moment. You know that catch-all rant that liberals apply like lacquer and seldom practice.' Perhaps you are, in a term so dear, still "evolving". I hope so.

From what I understand, the Tea Party was founded by Ron Paul and later hijacked by a bunch of cronyRead More "Republicans" who have been nothing more than an embarrassment to our once great nation. I never cared much about political parties, especially those of today, which are a pathetic joke. The leaders of both major parties certainly appear to be bought and paid for and have almost nothing in common with anyone making less than a few million a year. Look at the state of the nation. The Democrats back in the days the blogger wrote about would be deemed way too conservative today. What passes for politics today in the USA is largely trash -- at least at the national level. I thank the blogger for taking me back to a time when our country was respected in the world and the average American rated Congress's performance a lot higher than the less than 10% it earns today. This country has become a mere shadow of its former self since JFK was president. I guess one has to be an older person to see the decline as clearly as Aiden, the blogger and I apparently do.
