Whole Foods Coming to Port Chester

The company has signed leases for eight new stores across the country, including one in Port Chester, according to a report

Whole Foods is coming to Port Chester.

The news was revealed as the grocery chain released its first quarterly report for 2012: The company says it's inked eight leases for new stores across the country, including one here in the village.

According to the report, Whole Foods continues to grow amid the recession, and has even outpaced competitors in the high-end grocery business, with a 13 percent increase in sales.

The Austin-based chain has 317 stores and styles itself as a socially responsible business, offering natural and organic foods. The report does not offer details about individual stores, but says the eight new spaces leased average 33,100 square feet.

The new stores will open beginning in 2013, according to the company.
