Spokesman: Whole Foods Will Replace Vacant A&P In Kohl's Plaza

The company says the Port Chester store will open in 2013, bringing 200 jobs to the area.

A new Whole Foods Market in Port Chester will open in 2013 in the village's busiest shopping plaza.

The company to open eight new locations across the country in its first quarter report this week. The Port Chester store will be the third Whole Foods in Westchester County. The high-end grocery store has locations in and .

The company leased the now-vacant property at 575 Boston Post Rd., in the . The property benefits from a prominent location along Route One, with easy access from I-287 and I-95.

The vacant space was by A&P. That store was one of 32 stores by the company in 2011, after A&P filed for bankruptcy in late 2010.

The Whole Foods in Port Chester is slated to open in 2013.

"We’re really excited and look forward to serving the Port Chester community and adding nearly 200 jobs to the area in the near future," spokesman Michael Sinatra said.
