Port Chester Woman, 20, Acccused of Assaulting Police Officer

Cops: She dug her nails into officer's arm while she was being taken to police headquarters.

A dispute at a Port Chester gas station led to a 20-year-old village resident being charged with assaulting a Port Chester police officer after she was arrested for disorderly conduct, according to Port Chester police.

Jessica Archina of 46 Washington Mews, Port Chester, is accused of digging her fingernails into the wrist and forearm of a Port Chester police officer as she was being taken to police headquarters. Archina was being charged with disorderly conduct, a misdemeanor, over an incident at the Sunoco gas station on Boston Post Road, but had the second-degree assault charge, a felony, added because she caused lacerations on the police officer's arm, police said.

Archina was among a group of three women and one man involved with a loud dispute at the Sunoco station at about 2:40 a.m. on Monday. Police said Archina complained that someone had damaged her car, and when police arrived she began to yell and scream at police officers.

Police said that as officers were at the station, they could smell alcohol and marijuana, and found a small amount of marijuana in the car. A 24-year-old Port Chester man was cited for a violation for possession of marijuana.

During the incident, police said members of the group were told to go home. However, police said Archina continued to scream at police officers and she was charged with disorderly conduct.

Police said she injured the police officer as she was being taken from a police car to go into police headquarters.
