Port Chester High School Student is Westchester Teen Idol 2012

Singer Rosie Veltri wins competition.

Port Chester High School student Rosie Veltri is the 2012 Westchester Teen Idol.

She won in a competition Saturday night at Irvington Town Hall Theater. To take the title, Veltri sang "Maybe This Time" from Cabaret and "Astonishing" from Little Women.

Pleasantville Music Theater, a Westchester-based non-profit community theater organization, organizes the Westchester Teen Idol competition. Teen vocalists between ages 13-19 are invited to compete. Veltri also performed in the competition last year.

At Port Chester High School, Veltri is president of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. Tri-M, an acronym for “Modern Music Masters,” is an international music honor society for high school students, sponsored by the National Association for Music Education.
