Three Cited for Trespassing at Port Chester Public Housing

Check of building at Traverse Avenue part of response to complaints from residents.

In response to on-going complaints from residents of Port Chester public housing, police said three village residents were cited for trespassing during a routine check at 45 Traverse Ave.

Police said a village detective and patrol officers went to the building about 9:15 p.m. Monday and as they were checking a stairway they could smell the odor of marijuana as they approached the top floor. Police found three Port Chester residents, ages 21, 18, and 16, who were not residents of the building.

All three were cited for trespassing, a violation. No marijuana was found, police said.

Police said residents of the building have complained about problems created by non-residents coming to the building.
